In our ongoing celebration of all the #MagnificentWomen in our world we honor the most awesome Melissa Fitzgerald for her uplifting career in providing a beacon of light and love activism and excellence in everything she works for. Her recent and ongoing work as Senior Director for Justice for Vets was recognized with the highest honor the Army can bestow on a civilian.
United States Secretary of the Army Eric Fanning presented Senior Director Melissa Fitzgerald with the distinguished Superior Public Service Medal. The Secretary awards this decoration to those who provide exceptional service that makes a substantial contribution to the accomplishment of the Army's missions. The award recognizes Fitzgerald for her work at Justice For Vets on behalf of veterans treatment courts.
"Melissa's leadership and tireless efforts at Justice For Vets are making a profound impact on the lives of thousands of veterans in this country," said Secretary Fanning. "She has brought national attention to the need for veterans treatment courts to serve those who have served us. Melissa is a shining example of what it truly means to be a grateful nation."
